Mary Lou Woods
From the time that I was a little girl growing up in Lincoln, NE, I’ve been in love with color, be it Crayons (oh how I envied the kids with the 64 color box !), water colors, chalk, etc. As I got older it was paint that was my true love; the color, the texture and how one could paint through their emotions with a brush dipped in a glorious color.
I was a big fan of Peter Max during the 60’s and 70’s because of all the fantastic colors he used which made me feel happy when looking at one of his prints. Throughout my travels, I’ve been inspired by architecture and nature and when I moved to CT in 1979, I instantly fell in love with New England and its style and reinstated my love of Norman Rockwell.
When I discovered Annie Sloan Chalk Paint, it was love at first brush stroke. Bringing life back to a loved or forgotten piece of furniture has been a resounding joy in my life and to see someone’s reaction to one of my pieces and that they must have it brings me such delight!
I am very happy to take custom work and any piece can be personalized with name, date, special phrase and so on.
